Petra has facilitated workshops on project management and environmental awareness. She holds a Diploma in Environmental Policy, a Cert IV in Training and Assessment, and has followed training courses for coaches and trainers of Open Standards for conservation projects and programs.
Volunteer work
Petra was a volunteer on Earthwatch expeditions in the Peruvian Amazon basin (jungle transects and wildlife research on tributaries of the Amazon river), in Namibia (cheetah conservation), in the Australian outback (reptiles and small mammals), and in Costa Rica (leatherback sea turtles).
She has been engaged in volunteer work in Australia since 2011, at reserves, environmental institutions, councils, and National Parks associations in WA, VIC, NSW, and QLD. Activities ranged from wildlife research, bush regeneration and revegetation (weeding, planting trees), work in a National Park’s information kiosk and gallery, to interviewing local experts, taking photographs, and writing up content for a regional environment council’s new website.
